STR to go under scalpel

SimbuCinemimi[Tuesday, January 25, 2011]
Silambarasan, who recently suffered injuries while shooting for ‘Vaanam’, is now ready to undergo a surgery. But nothing to worry about it, as it is to remove foot corns that the actor has developed.

“Doctors have advised STR to remove foot corns with an operation at the earliest. Though the procedure will be over in hours, they have asked him to be on rest for a couple of weeks,” sources say.

This, it is said, will have an impact on the release of ‘Vaanam’, which is scheduled for the Valentine’s Day weekend. “Attempts will however be made to release the film as soon as possible,” they add.

Saying that STR was suffering from foot corns for quite some time now, sources said he however managed to take part in shootings and other functions. “He is now going under the scalpel as per doctors’ recommendations.”

Silambarasan narrowly escapes accident

Cinemimi[wednesday December 22,2010]
Silambarasan calls it as a ‘rebirth’ as he escaped from a major accident. It all happened recently when Simbu and his team were shooting for the film Vaanam. It was a sequence, where the actor was riding bike faster across the busy lanes of Triplicane.

Buzz up!On the spur of moment, he lost his balance and fell downside the road. Apparently, he stood up aside saving himself from the fast-running vehicles that were right behind him. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and was given first-aid treatment. He had some injuries over his body and bruises over his head.

Silambarasan thanks the God for saving his life and assures that he would be back before the lens shortly. According to the sources, he has completed shooting his major portions and only songs are pending to be done. Since the film revolves around 5 parallel stories, he did not have much to do with a long call sheet.

Vaanam features Silambarasan alongside Anushka, Bharath, Vega, Sneha Ullal, Prakash Raj and Sonia Agarwal in lead roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music and movie bosses are planning to release the album by next week
